The Medical Workforce Department co-ordinates employment of all junior doctors and dentists rotating through the Health Board as part of their training programmes.
Upon confirmation of placements from the Wales Deanery, the Medical Workforce Department will contact junior doctors and dentists with confirmation of their UHB placement/employment and provide all relevant information including details of pre-employment checks to be undertaken (i.e. Occupational Health, Disclosure & Barring Service check etc).
Once all relevant paperwork has been completed, the Medical Workforce Department will issue the Contract of Employment which details the placement, salary details and any banding which may apply.
For further information on available training posts in Wales, visit the Wales Deanery website.
The Medical Workforce Department is responsible for co-ordinating recruitment to all non-training medical and dental posts i.e. career grade posts such as Consultants and Specialty Doctors, and junior posts such as Clinical Fellows and Fixed-Term Service Appointments to cover vacant training posts.
All posts are advertised by the Medical Workforce Department via the NHS Jobs website.
