Parking at Barry and St David's Hospitals

Barry Hospital

Car parking at Barry Hospital and St David's Hospital is managed by ParkingEye.

Barry Hospital

From Monday 3 September 2018 Barry Hospital issued new parking regulations, which aim to benefit both patients and visitors.

The UHB has revised the current parking system to bring it in line with the health board’s new parking enforcement contract which is in place at the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough.

With the old system, patients and visitors had to register their vehicle immediately on arrival. Under the new system, they now have up to four hours automatic free parking with no need to register on arrival. On occasions where they need to stay longer than four hours, they can do so by entering their vehicle registration into one of the terminals at the hospital's main entrances.

On-site signage has been changed accordingly,  and the system will continue to use Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.

For staff working at the hospital, there are no changes to staff parking.

For shift workers, there are no parking enforcement between 5pm and 8am the next day Monday to Friday, and at weekends.

St David's Hospital

Parking is free at St David's Hospital and there are designated zones for patients/visitors and staff. To qualify for two hours free parking, patients/visitors should enter their vehicle registration number into the terminal at the main hospital entrance – simply tap terminal screen, select “patient/visitor” or “Blue Badge” (if parked in disabled bay), enter vehicle registration number and press “enter”. In order to extend you stay (if necessary) please speak to a member of staff.
